How are your Phone Answering Skills?

banner2As the saying goes, you don’t get a second chance to make a first impression. This applies not only to face to face introductions, but also to phone introductions, perhaps even more so.

Without any visual stimuli of the face to face meeting, the phone call will only be using the sound, intonation, and emphasis of the voice to build that impression. We can sometimes forget how much insight can be inferred by our voices, (yes, we can actually hear you roll your eyes), lulled into a false sense of security since we are behind the scenes. Professionalism? Impatience? Joyfulness? All of these will come through. This is extremely important when relying on that call that just came in to turn into a sale!
Here is great article that outlines some steps to keep in mind when answering that call, posted here with permission from the author. And if you want to leave it to someone else to do, give us a call, or email us, we will be happy to help you. After all, it’s what we do!
