Call Centre HistoryExtend Communications Inc. is a privately held corporation celebrating over 60 years in telecommunications and teleservices. Extend Communications opened on February 16, 1956 and has been open literally every minute of every day ever since. We don’t go home at 5:00, we don’t take holidays, we don’t go to sleep, we just don’t stop. We run your business while you enjoy these small pleasures in life. 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, Extend answers phone calls and emails, schedules appointments, takes orders, relays messages, updates your social media, and much, much more. In fact, each year we handle over 6,000,000 transactions on our client’s behalf.

Extend was founded in 1956 by A.F.W. Lyons. Since that time, 3 generations of the Lyons family have grown the Company into an Award Winning teleservices and wireless supplier, with clients across the United States and Canada.



Scott Lyons

F. Scott H. Lyons, President

Scott is President of Extend Communications Inc., and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo Ontario. He joined Extend in 1989, holding increasingly senior roles in the company, before becoming President in the late 1990s. Scott has spoken at many industry conferences in both Canada and the United States, and has held the position of President of the Canadian Call Management Association (CAM-X), and Board Member of the Professional Inbound Network (PIN).

In addition to his commitment to his business and the industry, Scott is extremely active in his community serving on the boards of numerous organizations and institutions such as the Board of Governors of Wilfrid Laurier University, Brant Community Foundation (Secretary 2011-2013), Lansdowne Children’s Centre (Chair 2010-2012), Rotary Club of Brantford (President 2004/2005), Brantford-Brant Chamber of Commerce (President 2002). Scott is also the recipient of the Tom Ryan Award for Ethics and Integrity, and in 2012 was named a (double) Paul Harris Fellow, for his work and dedication to the ideals of Rotary International.

Scott and his wife Michele have 2 grown sons, and live just outside of Brantford, Ontario. In his personal time Scott remains a winter fanatic, enjoying snowmobiling, skiing, and generally playing in the white stuff. In the off season, his activities include ATVing and horseback riding.




Lina Cunningham, General Manager

Lina Cunningham joined the team at Extend Communications in 2005 and with her diverse skills, experience and educational background, advanced quickly in the company.  As General Manager, she is now involved in many aspects of day to day operations including oversight of sales, customer service, and technical programming.  Lina holds an Honours B.A. in Leadership Studies from Wilfrid Laurier University, and has served on the Board of Directors for the Brant-Brantford Chamber of Commerce, and the NAEO trade association.  In Lina’s spare time she is an avid traveler that enjoys the sunshine, gardening, and spending time with family.



Mark Frey

Mark Frey, IT Manager

Mark has over 35 years of experience at Extend in communications technology and IT services, and applying new technologies to improve customer service. In his spare time he enjoys nature, gardening, science and science fiction.



Laura Joudrey

Laura Joudrey, CPA, CGA, CFO

Laura joined Extend Communications in 2002, and has over 25 years of managerial and accounting experience in a corporate environment. A graduate of McMaster University in History and Accounting, Laura has continued to enhance her qualifications in business and finance through the CGA of Ontario, allowing her to effectively contribute to the strategic goals and growth of Extend. Laura’s favorite activities include spending time with her family, traveling, yoga, sailing, and reading.



Dave Patterson

Dave Patterson, Director of Operations

Dave Patterson is a business operations specialist with over 20 years experience working with some of North America’s most recognized brands. A naturally strategic thinker, Dave has a passion for developing people and leading teams through change by collaborating to build structure within the organization.

As a former highly recruited multi-sport athlete, Dave is an initiative-taking mentor. When not hard at work or feeding his passion for continuous education, you can spot Dave outdoors doing anything physical, riding his motorcycle or keeping fit in his home gym.

Dave lives in Glen Morris with his life partner, Bonnie and their dog, Raider. He’s an avid believer in giving back to the community and volunteers his time generously to support a wide range of efforts to make their small world a better place.



Jessica Snow

Jessica Snow, Operations Manager

Jessica joined Extend in 2007, and has over 15 years of customer service and 8+ years of managerial experience.  She started her career with us as a front-line customer service representative, and moved quickly through the ranks to supervisor, acting manager, to her now current role as Operations Manager. She is always learning and challenging herself through continuing education, professional seminars, and her personal life.  In her leisure time, Jessica enjoys traveling to new places, completing her bucket list, and spending quality time with family.
